The Planning and Communications Committee provides coordination across the Standing Committees of the Commission to drive synergies, and to ensure alignment with the goals of the Commission in partnership with the Area Agency on Aging (AAA). The committee advises on the development of the state-mandated Marin County Area Plan for Aging and its annual updates.
The Planning and Communications Committee works closely with the AAA to develop, implement, and report on Marin County’s needs assessment of older adults. It oversees the implementation and evaluation of the Commission’s annual fiscal year goals, and the objectives for each of the Commission’s Standing Committees. As appropriate, the Planning and Communications Committee serves as a Commission and AAA liaison, providing support and input into countywide planning efforts and special funding initiatives that affect the health and well-being of older adults.
