Gary Naja-Riese leads work to fund homelessness services and improve Marin’s system of care for people experiencing homelessness. He works closely with County departments, cities, and community partners.
Gary brings more than 25 years of experience in:
- public health
- policy development and implementation
- community organizing
- training and technical assistance
- managing programs in both public and private sectors
His past work includes national and international projects to expand access to HIV prevention and to improve community health through changes to the built environment. At the San Francisco Department of Public Health, he helped reduce heart disease and stroke by transforming neighborhoods and supporting community-led solutions.
Gary holds a Master of Social Work (MSW) in community organizing and public policy. He is also a Master of Public Health (MPH) candidate at the University of Connecticut.
