Kari Beuerman, LCSW

Social Services Director

Kari Beuerman is the Social Services Director for Marin County. She brings years of experience in public service, community leadership, and social work.

Kari earned a bachelor’s degree in community studies from UC Santa Cruz. She also holds a master’s degree in social work from USC and a master’s degree in Jewish communal services from Hebrew Union College. She is a licensed clinical social worker.

Kari began her career at a Bay Area nonprofit that supports children and adults with developmental disabilities. She worked as a case manager and supervisor, serving mostly monolingual Spanish-speaking individuals and families.

She joined Marin County in 2005 as a supervisor in Aging and Adult Services. In 2012, she moved to the County of Santa Cruz, where she served for four years as the Division Director of Adult and Long-Term Care.

Kari returned to Marin County Health and Human Services three years ago to take on her current role. She chairs the First 5 Marin Children and Families Commission and serves on the board of CalSWEC (California Social Work Education Center).

Kari is especially passionate about workforce development. She focuses on helping staff grow through training, mentorship, and support.
