Summary
In January 2019, Marin County’s Point-in-Time Count identified 1,034 people experiencing homelessness, with most living unsheltered. The survey found that economic hardship, relationship challenges, and mental health issues were the leading causes. Many reported serious health conditions or disabilities, and nearly one-third were over age 50. Despite these challenges, 92% said they would move into affordable permanent housing if it were available, highlighting the urgent need for both housing solutions and supportive services in Marin.
