Summary
In February 2021, Marin County conducted a special count to measure homelessness among people living in vehicles. The effort found 486 people residing in cars, vans, and RVs, nearly double the number from 2019. While the full Point-in-Time Count was postponed due to the pandemic, this vehicle count provided critical insight into local homelessness trends. The results highlight the growing role of vehicular homelessness in Marin and the continued need for housing solutions and supportive services across the county.
