Summary
The 2022 Point-in-Time Count identified 1,121 persons experiencing homelessness in Marin County. This represents an 8.4% increase from the count conducted in 2019. In the weeks following the street count, a survey was administered to 359 unsheltered and sheltered individuals experiencing homelessness in order to profile their experience and characteristics.
Overall there was an 8% increase in those experiencing homelessness since 2019. Compared to 2019, there was an 11% decrease in sheltered homelessness, and a 17% increase in unsheltered homelessness. 59% of population is male. 74% of the population is in and unsheltered homelessness situation. Most of the population is White (65%), but Black individuals are overrepresented compared to the Marin County census population.
