2024 Point in Time Count Preliminary Data

Summary

This preliminary data release of findings from the 2024 PIT show a nearly 3% decline in the Marin County homeless population from 2022 to 2024. The sheltered homeless population increased by nearly 4%, but the unsheltered population decreased by 5%. Special populations like veterans and unaccompanied youth fell, but there was a significant increase in chronically homeless families (21to 50, a 138% increase).

White individuals make up the majority of the homeless population, followed by Hispanic and Black individuals.
