Follow these steps to find contracting opportunities, register as a vendor, get insured, and sign your contract before work begins.
Before you start
Find Contracting Opportunities:
- Visit and search for Marin County Contracting Opportunities
- Visit the Marin County BidExpress webpage for Vendor ‘How To’ documents and Instruction
- Create a free BidExpress account to subscribe to notifications
What to do
- Register as a Vendor
- Create or update your vendor account.
- Submit your W-9 and contact details.
- Allow up to 10 business days for processing.
- Check that all information is complete to avoid delays.
- Acquire Proof of Insurance: Speed up the contract process by working with your contract manager and insurance broker to get the right coverage with $1,000,000.00 or higher per occurrence. You may need:
- General liability insurance
- Professional liability insurance
- Workers’ compensation insurance
- Commercial auto insurance
- Cyber liability insurance
- Errors and Omissions
- Malpractice insurance
- Sexual Abuse and Molestation insurance
- other coverage as indicated in your contract
- Submit proof of insurance
- Request a valid Certificate of Insurance (COI) from your broker.
- Include the Additional Insured Endorsement (AIE) (Required)
- Note: AIE must appear on a separate page and list: ‘County of Marin, 3501 Civic Center Drive, San Rafael, CA 94903’ as additionally insured.
- Confirm all coverage dates are active.
- Send documents to the County contact listed in your contract.
