- The Marin Medical Reserve Corps (MMRC) is a volunteer program that helps Public Health.
- Volunteers help during emergencies and support community health programs.
- You need to be a licenced medical professional to join- juch as an MD, NP, RN, MFT, MA, Dentist, EMT, CNA, etc.
- Volunteers may help with:
- Emergency response (like shelters or call centers)
- Vaccination clinics, oral health screenings, life saving skills trainings, naloxone distribution and community events
- Volunteers sign up ahead of time so they can help quickly when needed.
Before you start
- Choose how you want to be involved:
- MMRC Team: Active volunteers who train and respond to emergencies
- Surge Unit: Volunteers who help during large emergencies
- Be ready to:
- Fill out an online application with the Disaster Healthcare Volunteers site.
- Share your credentials (if you have them)
- Complete County onboarding requirements, training and orienation.
- Your role will depend on your skills and availability.
What to do
- Go to the California Disaster Healthcare Volunteers website
- Click “Register”
- Select Medical Reserve Corps (MMRC team) or Marin County (Surge Unit)
- Fill out and submit your application
- Complete your profile
As a volunteer, you might:
- Help at emergency shelters or call centers
- Communicable disease outbreaks
- Support community health events such as flu clinics, or dental screenings
- Share health information with the community
- Help with office or event support
