About this service
The Family Urgent Response System (FURS) is a free 24/7/365 hotline and local response service for current or former foster youth and their caregivers. FURS provides immediate help for urgent issues, whether by phone or through a local Mobile Response Team that can come to your location to help solve problems and connect you to local services and supports. Services are voluntary and driven by the youth's and caregiver's input.

- Youth who are currently in foster care.
- Youth who used to be in foster care.
- Caregivers of youth who are currently or formerly in foster care.
- When contacting FURS, be prepared to explain your situation to the hotline screener so they can determine the best response and connect you with local resources.

What FURS provides
- The Family Urgent Response System (FURS) is a Free 24/7/365 Hotline for current or former foster youth and their caregivers to call and get immediate help for any big or small issues you may be having.
- FURS also has a local Mobile Response Team of caring and trained individuals that can come directly to where you are to help you solve problems and connect you to local services and support.
- FURS services are for YOU, are voluntary, and are driven by your input on how they can be the support team you need.
How the service works
When you contact the FURS hotline, a screener will listen to your situation, verify eligibility, and connect you with the appropriate local FURS team. You can request a phone response or an in-person response from the Mobile Response Team. After an initial phone or in-person intervention, FURS staff can continue to work with a youth or caregiver to connect them to services.

- You must be the youth or the caregiver of a youth who is currently or used to be in foster care.
- Be ready to explain your situation to the hotline screener so they can determine the best support and response.
