Contact the Public Health Office about a communicable disease

Need to know

  • Some urgent public health reports are handled 24/7.
  • Non-urgent concerns are handled during business hours.

Before you start

  • Write down the suspected disease, when it happened, and where it was reported.
  • Gather name of patient and details of lab tests.
  • Include close contacts, if you have them.

What to do

  1. Review the Communicable Disease Prevention and Control page for the correct reporting process for the issue.
  2. If you are a health care provider and the issue is urgent outside of business hours, follow the after-hours instructions.
  3. If you are a community member or provider and the issue is not urgent, use the email or phone option listed for the program.
