Need to know
- You must be age 18 or older and live in Marin County.
- You must be receiving General Relief or CalWORKs.
- You must have a chronic mental health or physical disability that keeps you from working for 12 months or more, or result in death.
- Be in current/continuous treatment
Before you start
- List your medical providers and where you have received care.
- Gather any medical records you already have.
What to do
- For referral, contact your worker.
- If you meet the criteria, an SSIA staff will help you file an SSI and/or SSDI claim.
- Work with staff to gather medical documents that support your claim.
- Attend all SSIA and medical appointments
