How the program works

When a CalFresh recipient is referred to CFET by their eligibility worker, CFET staff will contact the participant to explain next steps and schedule initial activities. The program includes an initial workshop series and individualized planning to help participants move toward employment or training goals. CFET staff can help identify and provide support services when costs are a barrier to participation.

Start with your eligibility worker

Call 877-410-8817 and ask to speak with your eligibility worker about being referred to CFET.

After you are referred

  1. Attend the initial CFET workshop series called JumpStart.
  2. Work with CFET staff on a plan for training or work experience.
  3. Ask about support services if costs are a barrier, such as transportation, supplies, tools, or clothing needed for training or work.
