Need to know
- CalFresh Employment and Training (CFET) is free and voluntary.
- CFET provides employment and training support for non-assistance CalFresh recipients who are not on CalWORKs, or sanctioned for CalWORKs.
- CalFresh recipients are referred to CFET by an eligibility worker.
- Support services may help with costs such as transportation, training, school supplies, tools, childcare or interview clothes.
Before you start
- Think about your goals, like getting a job, starting a career, or enrolling in training or trade apprenticeship.
- Be ready to talk with your eligibility worker about a referral.
What to do
Start with your eligibility worker
Call 877-410-8817 and ask to speak with your eligibility worker about being referred to CFET.
After you are referred
- Attend the initial CFET workshop series called JumpStart.
- Work with CFET staff on a plan for training or work experience.
- Ask about support services if costs are a barrier, such as transportation, supplies, tools, or clothing needed for training or work.
